scratch.mit.edu - Let Kids Program Their Own Games and Animations
Scratch is a programming environment for beginners, where kids can use a simple programming syntax to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art, and share their creations on the web
|
Scratch animations consist of sprites that you animate by visually dragging MOVE blocks into the Scripts area in the Scratch interface. Muliptle sprites can be created and interact with one another. Use built-in sprites or draw your own using a drawing tool. You can change how a sprite looks by giving it a different costume.
Programming statements that can be used in Scratch include "if/then"-clauses, "repeat/until" constructs, loops and much more. Programming syntax is graphically represented as puzzle pieces.
Once a game or animation is finished, it can be published online on the www.scratch.mit.edu website for the whole world to view and use!
